The Earth’s celestial companion is a familiar sight in the night sky. But go there, and you’d find a very unfamiliar world: a world of extreme hot and cold, light and dark, a world where footprints last millennia, and where the light plays tricks on your senses. Even the journey to the Moon packs a surprise or two. In this new talk, science communicator and Apollo enthusiast Dr Ben Craven uses custom demonstrations to help you get to know the Moon and the journey there a little better. Find out why the Moon changes shape, how black can be white, why finding your way on the Moon is surprisingly difficult, and how the best way to speed up a spacecraft is sometimes to slow it down…
